The First Post

Iraklia, Greece 2019
I write my first post on the blog as the number of COVID-19 cases continue to increase around the country and world. I live in Northwestern Washington, near the origin of the coronavirus. Still I remain positive. And on the cold waning winter night, wanderlust grows in my heart and soul and I dream of far off places in hopes that I can pack my suitcase soon enough and hop on a plane.

Last night I made my flight arrangements to travel to Greece for a month. Basically the entire month of July I hope to spend in Athens and the Greek Islands. I have fallen in love with Greece; and I also love to travel – either around the United States, or around the world. I won’t hesitate to jump on a plane, or hop in my old pickup, to travel far and wide to experience what’s over the next hill or around the next bend.

My 2020 travel plans currently include two trips to Greece for two months total, as well as a cross-country driving trip and myriad other trips here and there.

So we’ll see where this blog takes us. The last one I started ended up with me writing approximately nine hundred posts before I lost interest.  If all goes as planned, some of the posts will be written while I am traveling on the road, while others will be posted as I am sitting in my little home in Bellingham, Washington, dreaming of far-off places. I try to limit my writings to fifteen minutes per post, as this computer has the ability to easily and unwittingly rob hours of my life.

I hope that you read and enjoy, and please stop back once in a while.
